Detail from my hot off the press, off-year, off with their heads election nightmare comic. Two full pages in The Stranger. See it online in all it's gory glory here.
I just finished a massive Election Nightmare comic. Sent off the files to the publication today, the newspaper hits the streets tomorrow. This is some hand lettering that didn't make it nto the new comic. I'll post more later. Two of my favorite things; monsters and politics.

American Affairs Desk: That’s Not Funny

American Humor.
Detail from a new illustration for The Stranger Election Control Board 2009 endorsement issue. We have all mail-in voting in WA state now. I absolutely HATE IT, it just feels wrong, something is missing in the process, and I think that something is civic engagement. I have not missed a vote in decades, and that includes presidential year elections, off year elections, primaries, dog catcher elections…I just know that in the near future I will forget to mail in my ballot on time since voting has now been reduced to the level of junk mail. Did I mention that I hate mail-in voting?

Captain Lou Albano We Salute You

Louis Vincent Albano better known as Captain Lou Albano has gone off to the squared circle in the sky. This video has it all; Captain Lou, NRBQ and the great Uncle Floyd, it is pandemonium, psychedelic pandemonium, as the good Captain would say in his ratatatat, freeform style, it is THE BEST THE ONE THE ONLY THE MOSTEST THE LEGEND THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME! Captain you will be missed.

Great song, great band, great show, the great Captain. When I was a young fella I had one of my drawings on The Uncle Floyd Show.

In a double dose of sadness, Steve Ferguson, a founding NRBQ member also passed away in the last week. Condolences.

American Affairs Tech Desk: Healthcare Plan
