Devolution
Here's another spot for the Seattle Weekly. This one was for a story on the band Devo. Are we not men? We are a band that people either love or hate. I loved them then. I love them now.
I also love the art and music of Mark Mothersbaugh. I play the soundtrack to the Royal Tenenbaums constantly.
Mark Kaufman on Vacation
I'll be on vacation from September 13 through the 28th, 2006.

Burt Goldblatt
Burt Goldblatt, designer, illustrator, photographer, author, has died at 82. His album cover designs of the 1950's and 60's were certainly an influence on me at an early age, although I didn't know it at the time. Only later on was I able to put a name to the simple yet vibrant imagery that spoke for a generation of musicians.Mark Kaufman on WFMU's Beware of the Blog
See some nice ink about me and my work for The Stranger on WFMU's Beware of the Blog! Scroll down to September 4 entry. A tip of the jogging shorts to Liz Berg.
Bumbershoot for Seattle Weekly
On newstands now (and in dumpsters all over Seattle Center) you'll find my work for the Seattle Weekly Bumbershoot issue. I did the cover and six, count 'em six spots for the Weekly's issue devoted to all things Bumbershoot, Seattle's long running arts and music fesitval that takes place on Labor Day weekend. Big thumbs up to Ryan Frederiksen, Seattle Weekly Art Director, and These Arms Are Snakes guitarist, for the opportunity.Drawmark Blog
OK. Like the rest of the human race I am now a blogger. Drawmark Blog will be my blog site in addition to my regular drawmark site. Here I'll try to write something everyday (likely story), keep the y'all up to date on what I've been working on, and try to feature great illustration, art and design that I have come across.
