Influence. Bob Gill.

By Mark Kaufman

In the podcast interview with me for Escape From Illustration Island, I name checked Bob Gill as one of my design/illustration heroes. A big influence on me and thousands of other designers and illustrators, his work struck me at an early age and set me on the path that I am on. A clever, funny, independent and outspoken creative force with an amazing career spanning 50+ years. A true legend. Don't believe me? How about this, Art Directors Hall of Fame, D&AD Hall of Fame, D&AD Gold Medal, founding Partner of Pentagram, one of the earliest faculty members at the School of Visual Arts, author of 20 books, piano player, filmmaker...shit...this could go on all damn day. And the best part? Still active, still relevant, and an inspiration to anyone who wants a creative life.
